Action description
Springfield Women in Technology is excited to host Neem Serra from Asynchrony Labs at The eFactory (BKD Room) for a presentation on unconscious bias.

Neem's presentation will discuss what it's like "being a cupcake in a donut world" as she dives into the subject of unconscious bias and how it impacts us all.

Unconscious biases affect our perceptions, decisions, and interactions every day. How do we address biases if we don't know about them? In this talk, you will learn how to recognize and counter the biases that play a part in interviewing, meeting a new team member, and day-to-day interactions. You’ll also see common scenarios and how to address bias as it happens or after the fact. Together, we can make the workplace a more diverse and inclusive place.

Neem is a developer at Asynchrony and leads the Google Women in Techmakers group in St. Louis. She has presented on this topic at various conferences like Agile Gravy and the AlterConf in New York City.

This is a gender-inclusive event!

Refreshments will be provided by Asynchrony Labs.
