Action description
Come and join us for our ‘Go Green’ Family Race Day in association with Keep Wales Tidy.

At this race meeting, we’ll be doing our bit to raise awareness of environmental issues while providing lots of free entertainment for families at the same time! In fact, this is Britain’s first environmentally themed family raceday!

We are also encouraging customers to walk to the course – or get the bus or even cycle. Bus services operate from Newport and Chepstow Railway Stations. Also for this meeting only, there will be a bus service from Monmouth running down through the Wye Valley. See the website for our timetable.

The Entertainment

As we are trying to become more eco-friendly, all entertainment on the day will be operated without the use of generated power. Bike power will be central to the theme of the day. You will be able to cycle a stationary bike to generate power for our kids disco. You can also charge your mobile phone with bike power.

Other entertainment includes:
- Four **** Painters
- A Rugby Zone with the Newport Gwent Dragons
- Three Children’s Entertainers
- A Mobile Climbing Wall

- Trampolines
- Roaming Reptiles
- Donkey Rides
- Circus Workshop
- Giant Garden Games
- Crazy Golf
- The Wacky Races

The Energy Zone

Charge your phone by cycling a bike.
Power a disco whilst cycling with your friends/family

There will also be a Green Zone for children to:
- Make a Seed Bomb
- Make a Bird Feeder
- Make a Mini Bug Hotel
- Help Build a Cardboard City
- Play The Games “Play Your Cards Right” and “How Quick Can You Pick”
- Get Involved With Lots of Arts and Crafts Activities

Tickets

There is a special early bird family ticket for just £25 (advance only) which gives admission for two adults and unlimited children. Parking is free of charge and you can bring a picnic (no alcohol).

During the afternoon we will have a mascot race on the track.

A £2 free betting voucher will be offered to the first 700 people that arrive by bus. This generous gesture has been offered by Totepool, who are the official betting partner of the meeting.

Travel and Transport

Parking in our main Car park is free.
If you’re travelling by Bus or Train a bus shuttle service provided by Newport Transport operates from Chepstow train station to the racecourse via the town’s bus station. The service also operates from Newport to the course from the city’s train station. The bus timetable can be downloaded here
There will be a bus travelling from Monmouth to Chepstow Racecourse which starts from outside Waitrose at Monmouth at 11.30am and stops at Redbrook public bus stop (11.40am), Llandogo public bus stop (11.50am) and Tintern public bus stop (12 noon). The bus shall arrive at the racecourse around 12.15pm. The same bus shall depart the racecourse at 5.30pm, arriving at Tintern (5.45pm), Llandogo (5.55pm), Redbrook (6.05pm) and Monmouth (6.15pm). The cost is just £5 return and you pay the driver on the day.

If you are Cycling we will have a secure bike zone for you to leave your bicycle.
