Action description
Please join us for the opening reception of Invisible Places, a solo exhibition of new work by Kelly Ording

Opening Reception Saturday, November 18, 6-9PM
Showing through December 18, 2017

Invisible Places explores two artistic directions that Ording has pursued in her body of work. First is her signature line work, which she evolves with the use of brighter hues as well as color washes over coffee-dyed paper. Ording’s other series focuses on abstract landscapes, which render dreamy ethereal places that may not really exist. With these latest pieces, she explores weather and movement.

Kelly Ording creates artwork that blends organic and geometric shapes with exact lines, pairing intuitive and mathematical mark-making. In doing so, she attempts to create and find beauty in simple things. Her pieces are as much about their creation process as the resulting imagery. Ording is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute (2000). In addition to fine art, Ording creates large-scale public works and murals for locations like Clarion Alley, Pelaga Park Recreation Center, Genentech, Facebook, Kala Art Institute, and City College of San Francisco.
